TAUNTON — Since the age of 9, Middleboro native Stephanie Connors envisioned herself owning her very own coffee shop.
“When I was a little kid, my dad used to take me to this place called Farrar’s,” Connors said. “I watched the girls wait on tables and make the homemade drinks and milkshakes. I was impressed by it. I used to pretend I had my own little coffee shop and own my little ice cream stand at home. It’s the only thing I ever wanted. When the opportunity arose, I took it.”
When Connors, 37, assumed ownership of Cafe Milano at 67 Main St. in downtown Taunton eight months ago, she renamed the establishment Stephanie’s — a coffee shop and more — for the Silver City community.
Previously, Connors was the manager of Cafe Milano for a year under the ownership of Margret Gudmundsson, who still owns another one in Middleboro.
